Singapore,
8 March 2001 - JCB International (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. and
Systems@Work, the creators of TeleMoney, announce today the
signing of an MOU to extend the new innovative TeleMoney service
to JCB card members for online shopping and to explore new
ways to incorporate TeleMoney for over-the-counter transactions
with JCB cards.
Through
this collaboration, JCB card members in Singapore will be
the first in the world to experience using their mobile phones
to authorize payments. This will bring excitement to the JCB
merchants and promote e-business.
Under
this MOU, JCB and Systems@Work will launch two key initiatives
Secure
Online Shopping
Existing JCB card members will receive personal invitations
to them to sign up for this new service at Telemoney web site
www.telemoneyworld.com. JCB card members can thereafter use
the new service immediately.
Consumers
can sign up for TeleMoney upon application of a new JCB card
that offers on-line shopping with greater convenience and
security.
Payments
for Over-the-Counter Transactions
To further provide value-added services to consumers,
JCB and Systems@Work will be exploring other new e-initiatives
including the following:
Instead
of having to sign on credit card receipts that may lead to
frauds, JCB card members can authorize payments by keying
in their personal TeleMoney numbers on their mobile phones
to perform over-the-counter transactions. This process does
not allow any chance for fraud since the member's personalized
TeleMoney number and mobile phone are needed before a transaction
can be confirmed.
Through
collaborations with partners like Systems@Work, JCB aims to
deliver innovative solutions using mobile phone technology
in order to bring about greater satisfaction, convenience
and security to consumers and merchants.
