Singapore,
11 April 2001
- Fuji Photo Film (Singapore) Pte Ltd launches world-first
web printing system which networks independent Frontier Minilab
shops nationwide. The web printing system consists of 2 online
services namely, Print@FUJICOLOR and Fujifilm.net Both services
enable consumers to upload, share and print digital images
onto high quality Fujicolor silver halide photographic paper,
"e-pic prints", in the comfort of their own homes.
To enjoy
the Fujifilm.net service, consumers can log onto www.fujifilm.com.sg
to register for a personal electronic e-album and upload their
digital images onto it. They can then share the entire or
part of their e-album with their friends by sending an invitational
email with a hyperlink to the designated e-album.
With the
new Print@FUJICOLOR service, consumers can place their print
orders online and have the choice to pick up the prints from
participating Fujifilm Image Services outlets equipped with
the latest Fuji Frontier Digital Minilabs, or have the digital
prints mailed to their homes or chosen destinations at their
own convenience. Fujifilm currently has the biggest network
of Digital Minilabs to provide this Internet upload printing
service in Singapore, as its Digital Minilabs are strategically
located nationwide.
Fujifilm
Singapore began marketing its state-of-the art, Digital Minilab
Frontier series in 1999 and has been promoting its high quality
digital prints "e-pic prints" ever since. The high quality
and long lasting prints produced are outputs of images derived
from negatives, slides or Digital files and printed on Fujicolor
silver halide photographic paper.
With "Picture
the Future" system, Fujifilm has provided an easier way for
customers to shoot with digital images, view from PCs with
FinePix Viewer, share pictures over Fujifilm.net, and eventually
print via Print@FUJICOLOR. The seamless flow from photo taking
to printing not only encourages the demand of prints from
digital cameras and digital files but also increases the overall
usage of digital cameras.
For all
transactions on Fujifilm.net, consumers can also enjoy the
convenience and security of making their payments online by
using the Telemoney payment service. Telemoney is an innovative
technological service developed by Systems@Work Pte Ltd. This
service enables a consumer to enjoy total security and control
for online purchases for "e-pic prints" through the use of
a very personal device - an individual's GSM phone. The GSM
phone will act as the electronic I.D. in identifying him/herself
as the authorizer of the payments whenever a consumer carries
out a transaction on the Fujifilm.net.
"We want
consumers to relive their most cherished moments at the click
of a mouse," said Mr. Jun Nagami, Managing Director of Fuji
Photo Film (Singapore) Pte Ltd. "The combination of our high
end digital printing Minilabs and secured online payment services
like Telemoney will allow us to ride on the wave of increasing
digital camera usage. We are confident that we will make e-lifestyle
a reality and not just a catchphrase."
