Systems@Work Launches TelePOS At CommunicAsia 2002
First mobile payment solution for delivery services

18 June 2002, CommunicAsia 2002 - Local m-payments facilitator Systems@Work once again leads the industry by extending mobile payments to delivery services in Singapore. TelePOS is the newest application built on the TeleMoney Mobile Payments infrastructure developed by Systems@Work.

Said Mr Ng Fook Sun, CEO of Systems@Work, "TelePOS (stands for Tele-Point-of-Sales) transforms mobile phones or GSM/GPRS handhelds into cashless payment collection devices for businesses with a mobile workforce, thereby enabling them to make off-site collection of cashless payments. As with other TeleMoney applications, all a customer needs is a mobile phone, a registered TeleMoney number and TeleMoney PIN to make payments for deliveries of goods such as pizza, groceries, gas and on-site services such as air-con servicing and pest control."

The TelePOS process is secure, convenient and efficient because no cash is involved, neither does the customer need to reveal credit card details to the delivery or service man. The strongest proposition is that the payer needs not be at the delivery location to make payment. With TeleMoney, the payer can be in the office or elsewhere, but he can still authorise the payment via his mobile phone.

TelePOS brings convenience to individual users by enabling them to pay for common delivery orders and on site services using TeleMoney instead of cash or cheques.

For businesses such as wholesalers or suppliers, TelePOS reduces the amount of cash and cheque collections, thereby reducing businesses indirect costs and minimising risks of delivery or service men losing cash or cheques. As TelePOS can be built to allow delivery or service men to download work order data into their mobile workforce GSM or GPRS enabled handhelds such as the HP handhelds, it reduces the chances of human errors, increases efficiencies and speeds up the working process.

"The HP Bazaar is committed to building an environment that encourages the development of the mobile e-services industry, by providing leading products and services with best-in-class partner applications," said Mr Kelvin Tan, director, HP Mobile e-Services Bazaar, Asia Pacific. "Our collaboration with Systems@Work is an example of our offerings, where Bazaar members can work in a setting that promotes the creation of innovative mobile solutions and the opportunity of working with a multitude of developers, service providers, operators, integrators, venture capitalists and other members."

TelePOS is designed for both B2B and B2C uses. The transaction process is convenient, fast and secure. Here's how it works.

Upon delivery of goods or services,

- The delivery or service man inputs total amount payable and customer TeleMoney ID
or phone number into his GSM or GPRS enabled handheld.

- Upon customer's verification, the delivery or service man submits information to
TeleMoney backend server.

- The customer receives call back on his mobile phone within seconds.

- The customer authorises payment by keying in his TeleMoney PIN.

- The delivery or service man's handheld screen will display result of payment request
and has the option to print receipt for the customer.

- Customer further receives confirmation of payment either through SMS.

Systems@Work will be showcasing the TelePOS system at Hall 5, 5L1-01 at CommunicAsia 2002, Singapore Expo, from 18 to 21 June.
